Romanian movie Illegitimate gets independent jury prize at 2016 Berlinale

Romanian movie Illegitimate (in Romanian: Ilegitim)by Adrian Sitaru won the CICAE Art Cinema Award in the Forum section of the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale).

This prize is awarded by an independent jury representing the International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE).

A total of 44 films have competed in the Berlinale’s Forum section this year, 34 of which were world premieres.

Illegitimate got many applause after its screening as well as good reviews in the international press. Find out more about the movie here.

The movie tells the dramatic story of a dysfunctional family and tackles several controversial themes, including the illegitimate love between two brothers and abortion.
